Short Bio

Prof. Miriam Erez is a Professor Emeritus of organizational psychology and management at the Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences, Technion, where she serves as Vice Dean of the MBA program and as Founder and Chair of the Knowledge Center for Innovation. Over a career spanning five decades, her work has bridged psychology and management across cultures, shaping how scholars understand motivation, culture, and innovation in the workplace.

Research Focus

Her research areas include Work Motivation, Cross-Cultural and Global Organizational Behavior, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She is known for foundational work on goal-setting and participation, the multi-level model of culture, and the study of global identity in multicultural teams.

Scholarship

She has authored two books and co-edited five, including the 2024 Oxford Handbook of Cross-Cultural Organizational Behavior, and has published over 120 journal articles and book chapters. She has advised more than 110 graduate students on their research theses and dissertations, many of whom are now faculty members in Israel, the United States, and Europe. In 2020 she was ranked among the top 2% of researchers in business and management worldwide.

Honors

Prof. Erez received the 2005 Israel Prize for Management Sciences, the 2023 Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the 2002 Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the International Association of Applied Psychology. She is a Fellow of SIOP, the American Psychological Association, the Academy of Management, and the International Association of Applied Psychology.
